WellMax is an environmentally conscious organisation and recognises the importance of its own actions in conveying the environmental message to its customers and partners in the construction industry.

Scaffolding is a prime example of a “full circle” service that produces little to no waste on site as it is a reusable resource. Recognising the importance of environmental awareness and impacts are essential to our continued sustainable development. This is reflected by achieving continuously, the ISO 14001:2015 accreditation.

Integrated Management System

Our business operations conform to an implemented Integrated Management System which brings together our three key areas: quality, environmental management and occupational health and safety. Our ISO accreditations have been audited under the stringent UKAS requirements, the sole national accreditation body for the UK and recognised by government.
These accreditations allow WellMax to streamline its management and efficiency whilst demonstrating our commitment to health and safety and the physical and mental health of our workforce.

Sustainability

We are committed to selecting suppliers, products and services that meet the quality and value-for-money requirements of the business, whilst at the same time minimising, where possible, any potential negative social and environmental impacts. To this end, the company is committed to continually improving its environmental performance and using sustainable resources.
Our sustainability objective is to ensure a continuous improvement in procurement decisions measured against delivering sustainable and ethical trading. More specifically, we seek to avoid adverse social and environmental impact in the supply-chain, the reduction of environmental impact from service operations and the purchase of products that meet recognised environmental standards.
100% of our scaffolding boards are sustainably sourced from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified forests and other controlled sources through a chain-of-custody. We require our timber product suppliers to be able to evidence full compliance with obligations of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR).
As sustainability goes, the scaffolding industry is a wonderful example of a full circle service with barely a bag of waste leaving site as all material resources are fully re-useable. These initiatives maintain our commitment to minimise our mark on the environment and maintain a social responsibility to our children of a lasting future for them. Maintaining close supplier relationships enabled us to develop a beneficial initiative with one supply partner where we exchanged our short scaffolding boards that were heavily in demand but lacked supply in the industry, whilst aiding our demand requirement for long boards. A perfect example of supply chain collaboration that aided all parties and in turn the marketplace.
